Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/Intermediate Care RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• 22-bed Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No call requirements
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume/census
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac and neuro/psych patient populations preferred
• Skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of rapid response/code teams

Additional Information

• Provide intermediate/stepdown level nursing care to patients requiring closer monitoring than a standard medical-surgical unit
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
• Care for patients with respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Support neuro/psych patients including CVA, seizure disorders, and post-neurosurgical care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, must be willing to work at least one of the three holidays
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
