Description
American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/Intermediate Care RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an active MI RN license.
Details
- 22-bed Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No call requirements
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume/census
- Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- CPI certification preferred
- Cerner charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac and neuro/psych patient populations preferred
- Skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of rapid response/code teams
Additional Information
- Provide intermediate/stepdown level nursing care to patients requiring closer monitoring than a standard medical-surgical unit
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
- Care for patients with respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
- Support neuro/psych patients including CVA, seizure disorders, and post-neurosurgical care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, must be willing to work at least one of the three holidays
- Previous employees must have been separated for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
