Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting requiring 1+ year of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with an average daily census of 220 patients
• Approximately 12 visits per day with a 1:20 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units required
• Patient population includes joint replacement, spine surgery, neurosurgery, GI and vascular surgery, amputations, stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, CHF, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, falls, vestibular disorders, failure to thrive, pneumonia, and cellulitis

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• Prior experience with a 1:14 patient ratio required
• EPIC charting experience required
• NY state license required if applicable
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Skills include assessment, adaptive devices, gait training, wheelchair assessment, and equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sliding boards, and specialty beds
• Experience with cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric patient populations preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, discharge planning, and patient/family education across a variety of diagnoses
• Duties involve documentation of assessments, goals, plans of care, and reassessments
• Scrubs of any color accepted except navy, surgical blue, or green
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
• Previous employees must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
