Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an Inpatient Oncology unit requiring ONS chemotherapy certification and Epic experience.
Details
- 28-bed adult acute care hematology/oncology unit with a 15-bed intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
- Can offer 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required, with 2 out of 3 winter holidays required
- Must adhere to facility's float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required (pending accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before start)
- 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification required (may be submitted as pending if completed before start)
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, accessing and managing ports, and chemotherapy administration
- BSN preferred
- Nursys license verification required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to adult hematology/oncology and stem cell transplant patients, including chemotherapy administration
- Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to determine an appropriate start date
- Specialty-specific orientation modules completed during onboarding
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external traveler employment requires 1-year separation and leadership approval
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
