Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Cardiac ICU role requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and prior travel assignments, in a Magnet, teaching, Level I Trauma facility.

Details

• Cardiac ICU setting caring for overflow patients from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU with a focus on cardiology
• 23 staffed beds on the unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend required, with flexibility expected for unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas expected
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
• Prior travel experience required, including at least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred but not required
• Experience in high volume, high acuity, teaching, and trauma facilities preferred
• References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients and overflow cases from other ICUs
• Facility is Magnet-recognized, a teaching hospital, and a Level I Trauma center
• Manager prefers to avoid pairing travelers together
• Scrub color is blue, either facility-provided or a solid color of choice
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days and cannot be requested during orientation week
• Local candidates accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must be separated from the facility for 18 months before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
