Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS, BLS, and NRP certification, and a CA RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 392 staffed beds, delivering 100-200 births per month
- Labor & Delivery unit with an Antepartum care component
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
- Every other weekend required, totaling 4 shifts per schedule
- Floating between like units required
- No on-call responsibilities required
- Uses Mediteach charting system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include antepartum care, obstetrical triage, external fetal heart monitoring (EFM), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovering C-section patients, and performing sterile vaginal exams
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum monitoring, triage, and high-risk delivery support
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- Free parking available onsite
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles, with location and dates
- Returning staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
