Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS, BLS, and NRP certification, and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 392 staffed beds, delivering 100-200 births per month
• Labor & Delivery unit with an Antepartum care component
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend required, totaling 4 shifts per schedule
• Floating between like units required
• No on-call responsibilities required
• Uses Mediteach charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required include antepartum care, obstetrical triage, external fetal heart monitoring (EFM), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovering C-section patients, and performing sterile vaginal exams
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum monitoring, triage, and high-risk delivery support
• May be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
• Scrubs of any color permitted

• Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles, with location and dates
• Returning staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
