Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring OH or compact RN license and 2+ years of cardiac ICU experience.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting in a teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• 36 hours per week
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Saturday/Sunday for dayshift)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Patient ratios approximately 1:1-2
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pump management, and PA line management
• Additional skills include arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, chest tube assist, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD management
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular and post-surgical cardiac patients
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, dysrhythmias, and cardiac emergencies
• Work as part of a specialized cardiovascular ICU care team
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel positions
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Travel experience preferred but not required
