Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Float role floating to other MS/Tele units within the hospital as needed
• Patient population includes adult medical, surgical and cardiac diagnoses
• On-unit telemetry monitoring required
• Patient/nurse ratio of 1:6 with potential flexing up to 1:7
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling permitted
• Cerner EMR used

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• PCU/Step-down and Float Pool experience preferred
• Primary IV skills required, as Respiratory Therapy covers specialty IV needs
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing nursing care across multiple medical, surgical and cardiac units as census requires
• No first-time travelers considered for this float position
• No radius restriction for candidates
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Preferred no RTO for any holidays, though a single holiday request may be considered
• Black scrubs required
• Previous employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return
