Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position, floating to other MS/Tele units within the hospital as needed
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient population includes adults with medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6, flexing up to 1:7 as needed
• On-unit telemetry monitoring required
• RN expected to have primary IV skills, as Respiratory Therapy covers specialty IV
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling allowed
• Cerner EMR used

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
• Float pool and PCU/step-down experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Float assignments limited to units within the same hospital, not to nearby affiliate facilities
• No RTO preferred for any holidays, though one holiday may be considered
• Black scrubs required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this float position
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible for return
• No radius restriction for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
