Description

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a hospital surgical setting requiring at least 1 year of OR experience and a CA RN license in hand.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• 26-week assignment length
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Handles general, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic, and thoracic surgical cases including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, myringotomy, total joint replacement, and VATS procedures
• Performs endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and EGD
• Uses electrosurgical units and other OR equipment/instrumentation
• Provides PACU/recovery support
• Floating required between sister facilities within the state

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency management, code response, and fire safety required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles

Additional Information

• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless applying under the local candidate policy
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
• Non-billable training modules must be completed prior to start and annually, averaging 16 hours
