Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with 3+ years of experience and TX or compact RN licensure for a Level II Trauma Center emergency department.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule alternating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (11:00-23:00) on a 36/48 hour rotation
• Epic charting system used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• 3 years of ER experience required (firm requirement)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and splint application/orthopedic trauma care
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a wide range of ER presentations including pediatrics, psychiatric conditions, respiratory emergencies, and neurological trauma
• Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury cases preferred
• Responsibilities may include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and IV therapy
• Administration of emergency medications including IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• RTO must be submitted with candidate profile
• License must be in-hand prior to start date
