Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Master's degree, CCC-SLP, and 3+ years experience for a skilled nursing facility, locals accepted
Details
- Skilled nursing/long-term care facility setting
- Days shift schedule
- 13-week assignment with 40 guaranteed hours
- Provides evaluation and treatment for communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Active state Speech-Language Pathology license required, if applicable
- At least 3 years of experience required
- BLS certification preferred
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently, with two-person lift required above 50 pounds
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Additional Information
- Evaluate residents and establish therapeutic plans of care with functional long- and short-term goals
- Consult with physicians and healthcare team regarding therapeutic and discharge needs
- Attend team meetings and provide in-services to nursing and other departments
- Monitor and modify treatment plans based on resident progress
- Recommend and instruct on use of communication/swallowing assistive devices
- Document all evaluative and therapeutic interactions per department procedures
- Educate residents and caregivers, documenting response to teaching
- Coordinate and ensure ongoing Speech and Language coverage
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, and annual compliance courses
