Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least one year of acute care experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• 36 hours per week on day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within the OSU hospital system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with strong acute care background required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric patients and substance withdrawal care
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as travelers
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract, with urgency emphasized due to credentialing timelines
• PCU experience is not required for this role
