Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Neuro position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications along with Epic charting experience.

Details

• Neuro PCU/Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4 at night, occasionally 1:5
• Day shift schedules available as 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts (6:45am-7:15pm)
• Required to float divisionally, including overflow and ED holds
• Must be able to work 2-3 holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, in hand before start
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and HFNC management
• Experience managing neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and TBI
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level care to neurological and cardiac telemetry patients
• Manage patients with renal, gastrointestinal, and endocrine/metabolic conditions as needed
• Perform wound care and isolation precaution protocols as required
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• RTO requests must be finalized prior to submission or before accepting an offer
