Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring high-risk L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a short term acute care, Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
- Some weekend shifts required
- Floating required between units and potentially sister facilities
- No on-call requirements
- Labor patient ratio 1:2, Antepartum ratio 1:3
- Cares for high-risk L&D, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients
- Involves active labor management, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with high-risk antepartum and labor management required
- Skilled in fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience with labor and delivery procedures including amnioinfusion, vacuum/forceps extraction, and C-section circulating/scrubbing/recovery
- Experience administering high-risk medications such as Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Terbutaline
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Must respond to question regarding prior employment history at any Providence facility
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care to high-risk laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients, including management of complications such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures
- Provide postpartum care including couplet care, breastfeeding support, and wound assessment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they can function independently in L&D
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for changes after offer
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- No fee for parking on-site
