Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift step-down unit position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• 26-bed step-down unit from ICU with all private rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1
• All patients on telemetry with heart monitors and critical drips
• Patient population ranges from GI bleed to COVID and respiratory distress cases
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation across all phases of the nursing process
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Promotes a patient and family-centered, holistic approach to care within a collaborative team environment
