Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring high-risk L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with 629 staffed beds
- Labor & Delivery unit caring for high-risk labor, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
- Some weekend shifts required
- Floating between units required
- No on-call requirements
- Staffing ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation/scrub, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Experience managing patients with pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, and preterm labor
- Proficient in fetal monitoring including EFM, internal fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with high-risk and low-risk vaginal deliveries and C-sections
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management and lactation support
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply given independent L&D experience
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying as local
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Can only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
