Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring high-risk L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital setting
- Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk obstetrical patients
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
- Some weekend shifts required
- Floating between units required
- No on-call requirements
- Labor ratio 1:2 and Antepartum ratio 1:3
- Cares for high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients
- Involves active labor management, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required
- Epic charting experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including adult and neonatal arrest
- Proficient in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation/scrub, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Experience administering high-risk medications such as magnesium sulfate, pitocin, and antihypertensives
- Skilled in antepartum care including NST, OCT, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
- Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor
- Postpartum and newborn care skills including fundus/lochia checks, lactation support, and newborn assessment
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for compliance
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care in a high-risk obstetrical setting
- Support maternal emergencies and high-acuity deliveries in a teaching hospital environment
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the state
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal flexibility once contract begins
- Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
- First-time travelers with independent L&D experience will be considered
