Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 3+ years of acute hospital experience and RDCS certification to perform adult echocardiography studies.

Details

• Diagnostic imaging role in the Echo/Cardiac department of an acute care hospital
• Uses Canon i700 and i900 ultrasound equipment
• Performs adult echo studies including 2D-Mode, Doppler CW & PW, valvular disease studies, color flow mapping, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, effusions, 2D & 3D TEEs, and hypertensive heart disease studies
• Pediatric echo experience is a plus but not required
• Variable shift schedule with 40-hour work weeks
• Call coverage required when appropriate
• May float to other departments
• Epic EMR used as of November 1, 2025

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience in an acute hospital setting
• RDCS certification required; ARDMS or CCI certification accepted
• Active AHA BLS certification required
• State license required if applicable
• Competent to proficient in adult echo studies including valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, and TEE studies

Additional Information

• Personal scrubs and healthcare professional attire required
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start for a scheduled appointment
• Candidates should plan to arrive at the destination the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health on Friday morning
