Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring 1+ year of Med/Surg experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Inpatient Med/Surg unit (8 East Neuro) within a hospital setting
- Day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend as needed by facility
- No call requirements
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- EPIC EMR used
- Patient ratios vary by unit needs
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (or compact)
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg inpatient experience required
- Neuro experience preferred
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for post-trauma, surgical, and medically complex patients across all age groups using the nursing process
- Coordinate care with ancillary departments and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
- Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- Black scrubs required; no other attire permitted
- RTO of 5 days or less allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full-week availability
- Local candidates accepted within 50 miles, subject to a reduced bill rate and limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year break or transfer to a facility outside the radius
