Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience, with night shift availability and flexibility to float throughout the hospital.

Details

  • Hospital float pool role covering the Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units
  • Patient ratios up to 1:7 in Med-Surg and 1:4-6 in other float assignments
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Must float throughout the facility within scope of practice, including the Emergency Department
  • Schedule is fixed with no schedule requests accommodated due to float pool assignment
  • Preferred experience with Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted for this unit
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and Trauma Level I/II settings
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry, respiratory care, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and cardiac drip management preferred
  • Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams preferred
  • ICU/ED experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across multiple hospital units as part of the float pool team
  • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
  • Perform IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and feeding tube management as needed
  • Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per professional standards
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
