Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU Float RN for a 4x12 day shift float pool position requiring at least 1 year of MS/Tele/PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele units
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required (average of 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
  • Floating required to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent relevant nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units as part of a hospital float pool
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Max RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
  • No special scheduling requests permitted; shift as listed is firm
  • Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
