Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring at least 3 years of PICU experience, a VA or compact RN license, and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at an academic teaching hospital
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Rotating day/night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00-19:00 or 19:00-7:00, with a few weeks on one schedule before switching (no rotation within the same week)
  • Epic EMR experience required with no exceptions
  • Float within scope as needed
  • Must work a minimum of 2 holidays

Requirements

  • Active RN license (VA or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 3 years of PICU experience required (orientation time not included)
  • BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate degree graduates from ACEN or CCNE accredited programs will be accepted
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with CVVH, chemo administration, and ECMO required
  • ICP monitoring, telemetry, and vent management skills preferred
  • 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Complete required orientation modules via the VCU Learning Exchange, to be finished by the Friday of orientation week
  • Adhere to facility's natural nail policy
  • Smoke and tobacco-free campus
  • Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
  • Time-off requests must be submitted at time of consideration for manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment, and holidays are not guaranteed off
  • Former VCU Health employees and travelers must have a 12-month gap in employment before returning
