Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month
  • Floating required to other ICUs including MICU, Neuro, TICU, and Burn
  • Holiday coverage required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active LA RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with ventilator management and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and renal patient management preferred
  • Experience with cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management
  • Critical Care Course completion preferred

Additional Information

  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Must reside within 75-mile radius to qualify for local rate
  • Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before becoming eligible for travel positions
  • Strict maximum of 5 days RTO during the assignment
  • Provide critical care to complex ICU patients including those requiring hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and multi-organ support
