Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care unit position requiring an AK license in hand and prior travel experience.
Details
- Long Term Care facility with 40 staffed beds
- Assignment length of 13 weeks with 26 week option available
- Day (4x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (4x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts, with no rotation between shifts
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
- Uses ECS charting system
- Any scrub color permitted
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Prior LTC experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills in respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, and peripheral line care
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
- 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a Long Term Care setting
- All caregivers must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation, with a one-time $10 fee
- No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26 week contract, and all RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the application
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Free parking available onsite
- Facility provides shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at the start and end of the assignment, plus local shuttle service in Seward
