Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Long Term Care RN for a night or day shift position requiring an active AK RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Long Term Care facility with 40 staffed beds
- 4x12 or 3x12 variable shift schedules, traveler's choice of Day (7:00-19:30) or Night (19:00-7:30) shifts
- No rotation between day and night shifts, with occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities nearby
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses ECS charting system
- Scrubs of any color permitted
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- LTC experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills required: respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication administration, peripheral line care, and isolation precautions/PPE
- 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, may include Charge RNs or Leads
- Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation as a condition of employment
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
- No more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered for a 26-week contract
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront and will not be considered after an offer or contract signing
- Assignment length is traveler's choice of 13 or 26 weeks
- Facility provides shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the assignment
