Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1-2 years of critical care experience, Epic proficiency, and a valid OR RN license.
Details
- Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 418 staffed beds
- Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Required to work at least every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating between units and sister facilities based on skill set is expected
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of ICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in critical care areas including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
- Experience with neurological critical care such as CVA/stroke management, EVD, and ICP monitoring preferred
- Experience with renal, respiratory, cardiovascular, and GI critical care skills as outlined in role specialization
- Must provide two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
- Provide direct critical care nursing services to ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions
- Floating to sister facilities within the region may be required, with additional incentives offered for float assignments to certain locations
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Scrub color is flexible for RN roles
- No facility parking fees
- Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a lower bill rate
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
