Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced combined adult/pediatric emergency department requiring LA or compact licensure and 2 years of ER experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Epic EMR required
• Charge experience preferred

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and IV medication administration
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Neurological assessment skills including CVA management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Two recent manager references required
• Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• Treat a wide range of emergency cases including shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, head injuries, and near drowning incidents
• Experience with pediatric emergencies, orthopedic trauma, and ortho trauma preferred
• Teal scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and paid at the local rate
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
