Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma/Neuro ICU position requiring 3 years of Trauma Level II ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting with a dedicated Trauma/Neuro ICU focus
- Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
- 1:2 patient ratios
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Float required within service line, including to a nearby hospital approximately 15 minutes away
- Advance notice provided if floated, with a paid orientation for the floating facility
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (EMSA not accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of Trauma and Neuro ICU experience required, clearly documented in work history
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TCAR
- Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
- Cerner charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation/management, multi-system organ failure care, IV insulin protocols, and GI surgery care
- Experienced in CVVHD/CRRT, shunt and fistula care, and renal failure management
- Proficient in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Skilled in continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Experienced in CVA/acute stroke management, EVD care, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management
- Knowledgeable in hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun and spinal cord injury/TBI care
- Competent in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP support, and interpretation of ABGs
- Experienced in chest tube assistance, suctioning, and use of PPE/isolation precautions
- Skilled in phlebotomy and surgical wound/wound vac care
- Recent Nursys report and one supervisory reference required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive critical care to trauma and neuro ICU patients with strict adherence to accurate documentation
- Unit conducts extensive chart audits, requiring high integrity in charting and assessments
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application; post-submission RTO requests will not be accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Facility-specific and unit-specific orientation provided; strong engagement and a positive learning attitude expected
- Interview availability required in Pacific Time
- 1-hour CA Harassment training course required
