Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma/Neuro ICU position requiring an active CA RN license and a minimum of 3 years of trauma and neuro ICU experience.
Details
- Trauma/Neuro/Surgical ICU setting caring for adolescent through geriatric patients
- 1:2 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule (3x12, 18:45-07:15)
- Required to float within the service line, including to a nearby hospital as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR for charting
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (EMSA not accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of trauma and neuro ICU experience required, documented in work history
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TCAR
- Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Proficiency in a wide range of critical care skills including ventilator management, ICP monitoring, EVD care, CRRT/CVVHD, arterial and central line management, vasoactive drip titration, and post-neurosurgical care
- Recent Nursys report and one supervisory reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Strict adherence to accurate and thorough charting is required due to frequent unit chart audits
- Floating to a nearby hospital may occur with advance notice and includes a brief paid orientation
- COVID vaccination required
- All time-off requests must be submitted with the initial application for consideration
- No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
- Facility-specific orientation is required and traveler must actively engage in the learning process
- A one-hour California harassment prevention course is required
