Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN with mechanical circulatory support experience for a night shift assignment requiring an active MA RN license.
Details
- Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) supporting cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, and advanced heart failure patients
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday
- Floating required to other adult ICUs as needed
- Scheduling based on unit needs with no block schedules or special accommodations
- Must be available to work all 7 days of the week
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required (conditional license accepted while pursuing permanent licensure)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2.5 years of ICU experience required
- Cardiovascular ICU experience required
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support required (IABP, Impella, ECMO, durable VAD)
- Must pass a pass/fail tele test at orientation with only one attempt allowed
- Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex cardiovascular and mechanical circulatory support needs, including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and VAD devices
- Care for patients post cardiac surgery, valve repair/replacement, and pre/post cardiac catheterization
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and high-acuity medication drips including vasoactive and cardiac drips
- Support patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and advanced heart failure
- Minimal RTO needed, with a desired length of 3-5 days
- Contract lengths of 13, 20, or 26 weeks accepted
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
- Candidates with prior actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
