Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a fast-paced critical care unit requiring GA or compact RN licensure and prior ICU experience.
Details
- ICU setting with 24 rooms and an average daily census of 19
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Diagnoses include ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3, with possibility of a 3rd patient
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Uses Pyxis and Epic systems, with SBAR communication method
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Navy blue scrubs required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to adult and geriatric ICU patients with complex, high-acuity diagnoses
- Candidates will undergo a clinical screening for fit prior to manager review
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per assignment
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Returning travelers must have been away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning
- Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift and unit
