Description
American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring recent Stepdown/ICU-level experience and an active FL or compact RN license.
Details
- 29-bed Stepdown Unit functioning like an IMCU, caring for both telemetry and stepdown patients
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Floating to other telemetry floors required as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent Stepdown experience within the last 3 years required
- Experienced nurses must have 2 years minimum experience plus an 80-hour critical care course, OR 5 years acute care ICU experience
- Degree must be from an accredited school or an institution approved by FBON, with 2 years of consecutive recent acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
- Skills required: airway management, dysrhythmia management, central line management, IV drips, isolation precautions, ABG interpretation, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Must pass Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
- Proof of vaccination status required, with no declinations accepted
- Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment
Additional Information
- Care for total care patients in a high-acuity unit similar to an ICU setting, minus ventilator management
- Smoke-free facility
- If a 100% score is not achieved on the lethal rhythms/basic arrhythmia exam, a retake must be passed within 24 hours with an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections
- Study guide and orientation materials provided by the facility to help prepare for the arrhythmia assessment
- Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius, at a reduced local pay rate
