Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a UT or compact RN license and prior med/surg experience.
Details
- 26-bed Medical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
- Techs are available on the unit for support
- Uses hoyer lifts, rolling computers, and rolling vital sign machines
- Charting is done in Meditech
- Day shift schedule from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts per month
- May float to Surgical or Acute Rehab units
- Cares for patients returning from cardiac catheterization procedures
Requirements
- Active UT or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Some med/surg experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Proficient in medication administration and controlled substance handling
- Skilled in NG/NJ tube management, chest tube care, and heparin drip administration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs and lab values within normal limits
- Join a supportive team known for a positive attitude and strong assistance for new staff
- Unit has received recognition including a Safety Catch Award and multiple Daisy Awards
- Required dress code is navy blue scrub tops and bottoms
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility with no exceptions for local candidates
