Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior high-acuity cardiac critical care experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week contract assignment
• Patient population is approximately 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure
• Care for high-risk cardiac surgery patients including open heart recovery, heart transplant, LVAD implant, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT cases
• Utilizes Swan Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring
• Uses Cerner/COMPASS EMR system
• May float to MICU, SICU, Medical, or Cardiac Stepdown units as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Preferred experience managing advanced cardiac devices such as IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters

• Deliver direct patient care through evidence-based interventions aligned with clinical standards
• Implement and monitor individualized care plans, adjusting treatment to optimize patient outcomes
• Administer physician and nursing orders promptly while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Navy scrub color required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply and could affect pay rate
• Copy of driver's license and two professional references required for consideration
