Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU role requiring therapeutic cooling experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Level III Neonatal ICU setting caring for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Manages super high-acuity infants requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
- Cares for infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Utilizes ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen equipment
- Manages central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
- Administers and titrates IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- 13-week assignment with a 06:45-19:15 shift schedule
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; 3-4+ years of Level III NICU experience preferred
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Must be able to independently manage complex, high-acuity NICU patients with minimal supervision
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Participates in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization and responds to neonatal emergencies
- Performs comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitors changes in patient condition
- Collaborates with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
- Provides education and emotional support to families throughout the infant's hospitalization
- Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Accepts local candidates at a reduced rate under facility radius rule
- Must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
