Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification on a stroke-focused telemetry unit.

Details

• 24-bed Telemetry unit supporting a comprehensive stroke program
• Cares for Neurology, Neurosurgery, TIA, and CVA patients, with overflow support for orthopedic patients
• Patients are transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
• 1st shift schedule, 7a-7p
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Neuro/Tele experience preferred
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• NIHSS certification required within 3 months of hire
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for telemetry patients
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities with patient and family-centered education
• Collaborate with inter-professional team members and delegate tasks appropriately to other care team members
• Support discharge planning in coordination with Case Management
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Promote a positive, healing environment through professional communication and teamwork
