Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit requiring 1 year of acute care experience and BLS certification.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit within an acute care setting
- Fast-paced environment with medically complex patients
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Meditech charting system used, experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, including acute care
- BLS certification required
- NBCOT certification preferred
- Kentucky license or compact license required, if applicable
- Experience with prosthetics/orthotics including above and below knee prosthetics
- Skilled in dynamic, functional, and static splinting techniques preferred
- Experience with adaptive equipment assessment and functional independence measure (FIM) preferred
Additional Information
- Treats adult patients including amputee, CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic conditions such as hip fracture and total knee replacement
- Responsibilities include evaluation, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Utilizes modalities such as electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, and edema massage
- Provides patient and family education, home exercise programs, and safety/injury prevention training
- Local candidates within 65 miles are not accepted
- Candidates must reside within 65 miles of the facility, and within 30 minutes for emergency response purposes
- First-time travelers may be considered if a strong candidate, though experienced travelers are preferred
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved prior to confirmation
