Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Trauma ICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency at a Level I Trauma facility.
Details
- Trauma ICU unit within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience
- Acute care experience must be within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and respiratory failure care
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to trauma, medical, and surgical ICU patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked teaching and referral hospital
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- References are not required for consideration
- Up to two attempts allowed to pass the telemetry exam; a third attempt requires proof of completing a cardiac interpretation review course
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
