Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring 2+ years of IR experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Community hospital setting with a Level IV Trauma designation and Stroke Center
• Unit includes 1 IR Suite and 1 Minor Procedure Room, averaging 5-8 patients per day
• Older, community-based patient population
• Procedures include nephrostomy tubes, sonograms, port placements, biopsies, angiograms with interventions, PE thrombectomies, embolizations, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, and paras/thoras
• No chemotherapy, Neuro, Y90, or TIPS procedures performed
• Provides moderate sedation using versed/fentanyl/dilaudid (no propofol) and circulates during procedures
• EMR: EPIC (Radiant) preferred; IV Pump: Alaris; Med dispensing: Pyxis; PACS: McKesson
• Unit equipment includes GE Fluoro Machine, US machine, and Inari device (rep typically present)
• Schedule consists of five 8-hour day shifts, 0730-1600, on a 12-week cycle
• Floats to CT to assist with procedures and provide sedation, but does not operate CT equipment
• Weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities required
• On-call rotation is one week every three weeks, Monday 1600 to the following Monday 0700, with a 45-minute response time

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of IR nursing experience required
• Experience with listed IR procedures required
• Comfort with charting/coding for cases preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Work alongside a support team including radiologists, radiology PAs, lead techs/RNs, management, rapid response/code team, respiratory therapy, and hospitalists
• Orientation includes NEO and 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation, with option for buddy call
• May be required to stay late for weekday call and can be called in more frequently on weekends
• Holiday coverage required, with potential on-call for up to 50% of holidays during the contract
• RTO requests must be approved through the manager
• Scrubs are provided; candidates wishing to lock their locker must bring their own lock

• Upbeat unit culture, currently all-female staff aside from rotating physicians and PAs
