Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring intermediate fetal heart monitoring, NRP, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit located on the 2nd floor of the Women's Hospital building
- Unit has 16 LDR beds, 3 OR beds, 3 triage beds, and 3 recovery rooms with approximately 70 staff members
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 12 RNs, and 2-3 surgical techs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 RNs, and 1 surgical tech
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines, ranging from 1:1 to 3:1 for low acuity patients
- Uses Novii monitors, iMobile, headsets, pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drapes, deep soaker tubs, light therapy, and aroma therapy equipment
- EMR systems used are CPN and Meditech
- Shift schedule is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 24-7 in-house Hospitalist, Midwife, Anesthesia, and Neonatologist coverage available
Requirements
- Active RN license (VA or Compact)
- Current BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
- Current intermediate AWHONN fetal heart monitoring certification (within previous 2 years) required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Perform labor, delivery, recovery, and triage care, including antepartum patients and circulating for C-sections
- Provide first-hour baby care, excluding admission assessment, eyes, and thighs
- Assist with breastfeeding support
- Facility values cultural diversity and centers care around patient preferences
- Dress code requires navy blue scrubs, closed-toe shoes, and coverage of tattoos and piercings
- Experience at high-volume facilities with more than 3,000 births per year is preferred
- Facility has received multiple Healthgrades awards for Labor and Delivery excellence, including recognition among the top 10% of hospitals evaluated for L&D
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
