Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Neuro-ICU position requiring active TN or compact RN license and ICU experience.

Details

• 16-bed Neuro-ICU/NICU unit
• Patient ratios typically 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 based on acuity/staffing
• Unit secretary staffed during day shift with occasional nurse extern support
• Equipment used includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
• Documentation via Meditech
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling permitted to an extent, with manager adjustments to balance coverage
• Contract labor is first to float, including to med/surg if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior ICU experience required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
• Perform or assist with procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line insertion, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
• Required to wear navy scrub tops and bottoms
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
