Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.
Details
- Inpatient Rehabilitation unit
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:14
- 8 weekend shifts per contract
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- No call requirement
- Preferred experience with trauma, stroke, and ICU populations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- LA state license or compact license required; license required if applicable
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Experience with cardiopulmonary, geriatric, and neurologic patient populations preferred
- Skilled in gait training, adaptive/assistive device use, and discharge planning
- Proficient in patient assessment, documentation, and care planning
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for inpatient rehab patients
- Works with equipment such as Hoyer lifts, walkers, gait belts, and specialty beds
- Provides patient and family education on home exercise programs and safety
- Orientation held five days a week
- Facility does not accept local candidates; must reside more than 65 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house contractors must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
