Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a critical access hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and Washington state licensure in hand at time of submission.
Details
- Critical access hospital setting with no trauma designation and 25 staffed beds
- Teaching hospital environment
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Block schedule required
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- No floating between units required
- No on-call required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Any scrub color permitted
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, with family maternity and OB experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
- Washington state license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of submission (compact license accepted)
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Skilled in medication delivery systems including aerosol setup, MDI, and nebulizer treatments
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures such as CPAP, intubation assist, and ventilator management
- Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
- Experience with airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- First-time travelers considered
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and neonatal/pediatric populations
- Administer a range of respiratory medications and manage ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and high frequency ventilation
- Perform pulmonary function testing and related diagnostic procedures as needed
- Manage patients with conditions such as pneumonia, COVID, aspiration, and respiratory distress syndrome
- Participate in patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the offer process; minimal RTO preferred
- Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
