Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong ortho/total joint experience for a 13-week evening shift assignment requiring an active MA RN license.
Details
- Work in a 20-OR surgical unit on the East Campus
- Supports Gynecology, General, Urology, Robotics, Oncology, Orthopedics (Joint Replacements, Sports Medicine, Oncology), Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastic, and Interventional Pulmonology surgical procedures
- 10-hour evening shifts, 40 hrs/week
- First week of orientation scheduled 7a-3:30p for 5 days
- Up to 4 call shifts per month, including weekends and holidays
- Short call is 2 hours after a shift, once a week
- Weekend call covered 7a-7p or 7p-7a once a month
- Overnight weeknight call shifts 7p-7a
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- 1-3 years of related OR experience required
- Strong Ortho and Total Joints experience required
- Scrub experience required
- Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Orientation occurs weekly, typically every Monday barring holidays
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Candidates with prior Beth Israel Lahey Health employment (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
- Required vaccinations include COVID (plus booster) and Flu, with medical exemptions allowed
- RTO requests and interview availability must be submitted at time of consideration

Cost-of-living is high, parking during day hours cost is $45 a day (better to take city transit), lots of call required for dayshift and evening shift
