Description

American Traveler is seeking a NICU/PEDS Respiratory Therapist for a night shift contract at a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center, requiring RRT certification and NC licensure.

Details

  • Respiratory Care department at a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center with 885 licensed beds
  • Neonatal/Pediatric patient population
  • Patient workload assigned based on department needs, ranging from ICU to Medical/Surgical floors
  • Common diagnoses include post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, and asthma cases
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • 12-hour night shift schedule, 1830-0700, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • No floating required; assignments based on traveler experience and unit needs
  • No on-call or call-back requirements

Requirements

  • NC RT license required if applicable
  • RRT certification required (CRT accepted but not preferred)
  • BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience
  • Minimum 12 months of core work experience in NICU/PEDS specialty, with most recent experience within the last year
  • Level 1 trauma center or high acuity organization experience preferred
  • Experience with Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist preferred
  • HFJV and HFOV experience preferred for pediatric assignments
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Work alongside dedicated Lead Therapists on both Adult and Pediatric teams in a collaborative, teamwork-driven culture
  • Team includes many members and leaders with extensive tenure and experience
  • Facility designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center, and is an Academic Medical Center
  • Orientation includes NEO plus 1-2 days of departmental orientation
  • Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays
  • Scrub color required: Pewter (charcoal grey)
  • Free parking available
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
