Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU position at a Magnet teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of critical care and NICU experience.
Details
- Level IV NICU unit at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Willingness to cover Adult floor, ICU, and Level IV NICU areas
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Weekend shifts as needed by the unit
- Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister hospitals
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active RRT certification required
- BLS and NRP certification required
- ACLS and PALS certification preferred
- Washington State Respiratory license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care, which may be Adult critical care and NICU combined or NICU (Level 3/4) only - adult-only experience not accepted
- Teaching hospital experience required
- LTAC and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- NICU Level III or IV work history required
- Experience with Servo U ventilator
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
- Perform neonatal/pediatric procedures including bubble CPAP, CPAP/BIPAP, ECMO, high frequency jet and oscillating ventilation, and neonatal transports
- Manage ventilator settings, troubleshoot alarms, and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Perform airway management including intubation/extubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Administer a range of respiratory medications and perform chest physiotherapy and ABG interpretation
- Any color scrubs permitted, with scrubs provided for OR personnel
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week, with minimal RTO requested and none during orientation week
- Prior UW staff must have 18 months of separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
