Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a night shift assignment requiring L&D, PICU, or NICU experience at a children's hospital.
Details
- Position within the Pediatric RRT unit, primarily assigned to Labor & Delivery
- Home unit of NICU, PICU, or Peds assigned upon arrival, subject to change based on facility needs
- May float between NICU, PICU, and Peds specialties, as well as to an affiliate hospital nearby
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Cerner charting system used
Requirements
- NBRC RRT certification required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NRP certification required for those placed in L&D
- PALS certification preferred
- Indiana state license required (temporary license accepted while permanent application is pending); license required if applicable
- Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PICU
- Children's hospital experience required within the last 3 years; candidates from Level I trauma adult facilities may be considered
- L&D experience required
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- 2 supervisor references required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services across NICU, PICU, and Peds units, including L&D support
- Skilled in ventilator management, medication delivery systems, and neonatal/pediatric airway management
- Perform arterial blood gas interpretation and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Utilizes specialized equipment including Servo U ventilators
- First-time travelers accepted
- Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby is required for all travelers
- Any former IU Health perm or PRN employee must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of travel employment must complete a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates
