Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring an active OK or Compact RN license and prior travel experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00)
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Facility averages 100-200 births per month
- Floating expected to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
- EPIC charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and NRP certifications required in hand
- ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- 1-2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in basic/intermediate fetal monitoring, EFM, and IUPC placement and calibration preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
- Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and managing high-risk deliveries
- Experience caring for patients with pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and other high-risk conditions
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Support high-risk deliveries, VBAC management, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
- Provide breastfeeding and lactation support following baby-friendly protocols
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
- Former employees of the facility must have separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted as locals
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
