Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring an active OK or Compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Facility averages 100-200 births per month
• Floating expected to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required in hand
• ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• 1-2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in basic/intermediate fetal monitoring, EFM, and IUPC placement and calibration preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and managing high-risk deliveries
• Experience caring for patients with pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and other high-risk conditions
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Support high-risk deliveries, VBAC management, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support following baby-friendly protocols
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
• Former employees of the facility must have separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted as locals
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
