Description

American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN with a CA license, NRP certification, and at least 2 years of experience for a Level III/IV NICU assignment.

Details

• NICU III/IV setting caring for neonates as young as 24-28 weeks gestation
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 1:1 and/or 1:2 patient ratios
• Cares for patients requiring cardiovascular, dysrhythmia, gastrointestinal, and respiratory support

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) required
• Skilled in arterial line, central line, UAC, and UVC management
• Experience administering IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• Experience with feedings and placement/management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Experience managing neonatal abstinence syndrome and isolation precautions/PPE
• Documents required for consideration include date of birth, RTO, valid state license, certification copies, references, and COVID vaccination status

Additional Information

• Provide critical care to high-acuity neonatal patients including those with cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurologic conditions
• Facility maintains a strict dress code including no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, and coverage of all tattoos
• Earrings must not extend beyond the earlobe and hoop or facial piercings are not permitted
• Orientation includes required training modules averaging 3-6 hours
• First-time travelers will be considered with strong experience
• Local candidates are accepted at the standard bill rate
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
