Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2+ years of experience for a new acute care unit, requiring SC or compact RN license and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a newly built Med/Surg Tele unit
• Bedside monitors capable of telemetry, BP, and pulse ox monitoring
• Currently 18 beds with charge role split between stepdown and 3 west
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p
• Every other weekend required (non-negotiable)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• 24/7 house supervisor coverage available
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required experience in MS/Tele, telemetry, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must provide SSN and driver's license for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide skilled nursing care on a growing Med/Surg Tele unit, including dysrhythmia monitoring and interpretation
• No off-shift management on-site, but leadership is reachable by phone during off-hours
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted within 60 miles, though non-local candidates are prioritized
• RTO must be submitted with the application and is subject to facility approval
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
